This colourfully illustrated book is set in the early time of the conquistadors in Mexico. During this period, christianity was being introduced to the region and slowly adopted by the indigenous population. However, this early conversion to christianity went hand in hand with oppression of the indigenous people.
This book tells the story of the apparition of the Virgin Mary in Mexico to a local Indian man (now beatified by the Catholic Church) and the legacy of this appearance which has survived to this very day.
